I have seen that, myself. You will need to click on the Go to Parent Directory icon to continue:
S3 is a key/value store. So it has capabilities which are a little different from standard, file-system storage locations. For example, it is legal to have a key name, like "/datasets/myfile/", which could contain data or not. The display looks odd with this particular set-up, however it works reliably. And, although, it looks like a dead end, you can either select the file with no name, if appropriate. You can also navigate to the parent directory, if you had simply chosen the wrong directory name.
