In order to execute the steps in this article, you will need command line access to each node of the Xcalar cluster. Typically, you can use ssh to login to each node, or you can use admin tools such as clusterssh to execute operations on every node of the Xcalar cluster at once. Let's assume that Xcalar support staff provided you with a patch file URL.
Download the patch to /tmp/expServer.patch.XXXXX on each node of the Xcalar cluster.
Now perform the following commands on each node of the Xcalar cluster, using command line access as outlined above, either ssh or clusterssh:
> xcalarctl stop-program expserver
> cd <install-dir>/opt/xcalar/xcalar-gui
> cp -r services/expServer expServer-backup
> patch -p0 < /tmp/expServer.patch.XXXXX
> xcalarctl start-program expserver
In the above > indicates a prompt on each cluster node.
