Judging by your desire to execute jobs on the cluster, I think you are looking for the Xcalar Home directory, where Xcalar Data Platform is installed and not the XcalarRoot.
XcalarRoot is short for XcalarRootCompletePath, which is the configuration parameter that lists the location of the shared storage mount connected to each node in your Xcalar cluster. This location is the configuration parameter named XcalarRootCompletePath.
To find the Xcalar home directory, where your Xcalar server software is installed, contact the operating system administrator who installed your Xcalar cluster, or find the Information Requirements that your operating system administrator filled out before installation.
I am submitting a feature request on your behalf to expose the Xcalar Home directory in Xcalar Design's Administration section. FYI, the XcalarRootCompletePath is displayed there.
Thanks in advance,
